Rebrand & Website Design

Client: WattCarbon
Role: Sole designer, Brand Strategy & Visual Direction, Brand Identity & Design System, Website & UI/UX Design

Overview

WattCarbon is a clean energy marketplace focused on enabling transparent, real-time trading of renewable energy assets. As the company evolved from an early-stage product into a more mature platform, its brand and digital presence needed to better reflect the rigor, credibility, and technical sophistication of the work behind it.
The goal of this project was to develop a refreshed brand identity and website that could clearly communicate WattCarbon’s value—bridging complex energy infrastructure with a more accessible, trustworthy, and contemporary visual language.

Brand Direction

The rebrand focused on establishing clarity and confidence without resorting to overly abstract or “greenwashed” visual cues common in climate-tech branding. Instead, the visual system emphasized structure, restraint, and legibility—signaling precision and reliability while remaining approachable.
Typography, color, and layout were designed to work together as a system, supporting both marketing communication and future product-facing needs. The resulting identity balanced technical credibility with openness, allowing the brand to scale alongside the platform.

Website Design

The website was designed as a primary narrative surface for the company—clearly explaining what WattCarbon does, why it matters, and how it operates within the energy ecosystem.
Content was structured to progressively introduce complexity: starting with high-level positioning and moving toward deeper explanations of the platform, technology, and market context. The layout favored clarity and hierarchy over visual excess, helping users navigate dense information without friction.

System Thinking & Scalability

Both the brand and website were built with scalability in mind. Components, typographic rules, and layout patterns were designed to adapt across pages and future use cases, reducing the need for one-off solutions.
This system-based approach ensured consistency while giving the team flexibility to evolve messaging and content as the company grows.

Outcome

The rebrand and website provided WattCarbon with a clearer, more confident external presence—better aligned with the sophistication of its platform and mission. The work established a foundation that supports ongoing growth, communication, and trust with partners, customers, and stakeholders.
